1810 Emerson House
Wisconsin’s Gateway Bed and Breakfast
Located in an elegant residential neighborhood just east of Beloit College, guests will delight in staying at the historic 1810 Emerson House Bed & Breakfast. This lovely example of Georgian Colonial Revival architecture was built in 1930 as a wedding gift for Theodore and Rosella Woolsey. The house’s distinctive cream-colored brick with dramatic “weeping mortar” is a neighborhood standout.
Beloit truly is the Gateway to Wisconsin, being located at I-90 and the Wisconsin – Illinois border. Both Milwaukee and Madison airports are only 1 hour away, and only 1 ½ hours from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Emerson House is also a short distance to Beloit College, cultural art centers and quaint downtown shops and restaurants.

Each suite has its own private bath outfitted with a luxurious collection of toiletries scented with the soothing powers of fresh flowers, herbs and fruits.

- August 2026This was OUTSTANDING! What a find. Just a wonderful well-kept and maintained house. Your attention to detail was first class. You pampered us, we slept like a rock and ate like a king and queen. We’ll be staying with you if we come this way again.
- July 2026Thank you for such a lovely stay – I wasn’t expecting to be pampered on a work trip but you two made it memorable!
- June 2026You certainly pamper your guests! Thank you so much, the extras in the room, the beautiful delicious breakfast. The homemade wine with cheese and crackers on the patio was so charming and fun. We’ll be back! God bless you and your ministry here!
- March 2026Thank you for your hospitality! From the cherry bounce to the cozy bed and incredible food, our stay was awesome. We will definitely return since our son is a freshman at Beloit College. All the best.
- February 2026My husband and I just spent a wonderful weekend getaway at the Emerson House. The innkeepers, Beth and Tony, could not be more gracious. The food was the most delicious we have had at a B&B and its presentation was beautiful. Such a charming place to stay! Already planning a return.
- January 2026We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visiting with you both. We came for a relaxing weekend getaway and your inn delivered exactly what we were looking for. The appetizer tray, specialty cake and three course breakfast were outstanding. Truly the best we’ve ever had at a B&B. God’s blessings on you both. Thank you for sharing your gift of hospitality with us.
