Frequently Asked Questions
Where is 1810 Emerson House Bed & Breakfast located?
Do you serve breakfast?
Breakfast is served in our formal dining room each morning. A full three-course breakfast includes offerings of fruit, a main entrée of eggs, protein and carbs along with a petite dessert served on fine china.
Is breakfast time flexible, and do you offer dietary accommodations?
Our breakfast time is flexible, especially if you’re not an early riser or have plans that require you to leave before the standard breakfast hours. Additionally, if you have specific dietary needs—whether it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, low-sodium, or vegetarian—check with us in advance of your arrival, we generally can accommodate you.
Do you allow children?
No children please, but we will consider children with the booking of both suites. Call the innkeepers for details.
Do you allow pets?
We do not allow pets in the lodging portion of the property because of allergies. We appreciate your understanding.
What’s the story behind the guest house?
Our historic home was built in 1930 and is situated in the Milwaukee and Emerson Residential Historic District, one of four in Beloit. This lovely example of Georgian Colonial Revival architecture was built as a wedding gift for Theodore and Rosella Woolsey.
Is there parking available?
Yes, free on-and-off-street parking is available for all guests.
Do you offer Wi-Fi?
Yes! We provide complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the guest house and on the grounds.
Are there shops and restaurants nearby?
Absolutely. Beloit is nestled between Janesville, WI and Rockford, IL, where you’ll find terrific dining, quaint shops, cultural centers and more. On the grounds, we invite our guests to check out Emerson House Vintage Finds & Favorite Things. And we’re always happy to share our favorite local spots!
Can we book the whole guest house for a group stay?
Yes! Our intimate boutique bed and breakfast includes two sizable suites and is a wonderful setting for small family and couple’s getaways. Booking the full property ensures privacy and the feeling of having your own home away from home. We allow a maximum of three guests per suite. Contact the innkeepers for details.
Is the guest house accessible?
Because the house was built in 1930, our two suites are up a flight of stairs with no ground-floor suite. Read our full Accessibility Statement.
Do you sell gift certificates?
We do! Gift certificates make wonderful gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, or just because. Call or email us to purchase one.
